14th TAPIOCA Meeting to Advance Tropical Marine Science in Recife

April 1 - April 3

Recife, Brazil – The 14th TAPIOCA Meeting will take place from April 1-3, 2025, in a hybrid format with in-person sessions at CETENE  and virtual participation via Zoom. This key scientific gathering will focus on strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration and planning TAPIOCA’s transformation into a center of excellence for tropical marine research.

Meeting Highlights:

  • Interdisciplinary Sessions: Presentations will cover (1) coastal socio-ecosystems, (2) oceanic systems, and (3) Amazonian margin studies, with a strict 10-minute limit to maximize discussion time.
  • Data Management Workshop (April 1): Dedicated to expanding TAPIOCA’s open-access repository, currently featuring Abraços and Amazomix datasets. Researchers are encouraged to contribute additional datasets.
  • Terra-Mar Exhibition Workshop (April 2): Planning session for this innovative land-sea science communication project.

Strategic Agenda for 2025:

The meeting will coordinate TAPIOCA’s participation in major international initiatives including:
✓ UN Ocean Conference 2025
✓ COP30 in Belém
✓ France-Brazil Year
✓ INCT program
