Dive into Marine Biodiversity: Terra Mar Exhibition and TAPIOCA Researcher’s Conference Arrive in France

Montpellier, France – On September 11, Planet Ocean Montpellier will host a special event bridging science, art, and ocean conservation. Researcher Arnaud Bertrand from IRD and LMI TAPIOCA will lead the conference “Terra Mar: From Mangroves to the Abyss,” from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

The event is part of the Terra Mar Exhibition, on display until September 30 at Planet Ocean, which immersively showcases the biodiversity of the Southwestern Tropical Atlantic – a region studied for over a decade by the Franco-Brazilian laboratory TAPIOCA.

Curated based on transdisciplinary research, the exhibition and lecture will cover:

  • The diversity of marine social-ecological systems in Northern and Northeastern Brazil
  • Long-term scientific expeditions and their findings
  • Dialogues with artisanal fishing communities
  • Threats and strategies for marine preservation

In addition to the physical exhibition in Montpellier, an online version is available on the dedicated Terra Mar website. The exhibit will also be presented in person in Recife at Torre Malakoff starting in October.

🇧🇷 Next Stop: Recife!

In October, the exhibition arrives in Brazil, strengthening France-Brazil scientific cooperation and bringing this visual and scientific celebration of the oceans to the Brazilian public.
